In Edwards v. Arthur Anderson, LLP, 44 Cal.4th 937 (Cal. Ct. App. 2008), the California Supreme Court concluded that non-competition and non-solicitation agreements are per se void in California other than in three specific statutory exceptions: (1) owner selling goodwill of business, (2) dissolution of partnership, and (3) dissolution of LLC.  Id. at 956; see Calif. Bus. & Prof. Code 16601 (2007), 16602 (2003), 16602.5 (2007).
