Why not use a disclaimer trust will? and let the surviving spouse manage
the tax issues.

Subject: [WSBAPT] credit shelter trust

I know this has been a topic, but I am not good about looking at archives.

I have a client (couple) with $2,000,000 and in their mid 60's. I want to
provide a credit shelter trust in their wills that will be specifically
tailored to protecting them up to the $4,000,000 in Washington Inheritance
tax exemption and I don't see a need to worry about US estate taxes.

I would like to see the language recommended to just cover the Washington
Inheritance Tax... "I give my spouse ________________".

Just the formula.

Thanks

I am, for the first time in many years, going to be able to attend the
midyear meeting of our section. So I will finally get to put faces to
some names of my fellow list mates who have been so very helpful.
