<div dir="ltr"><div dir="ltr"><div dir="ltr"><div dir="ltr"><div dir="ltr"><div>Not only "right wingers" but government operatives have infiltrated and sometimes escalated protests, for decades. The motives can sometimes be transparent. It is obvious the Trump campaign wants the appearance of anarchy, lawlessness, violence, destruction in the US, to run on the "I will keep you safe" law and order patriotism platform, to discredit the Black Lives Matter protests. Some of the republican candidates for office in Washington State are now running ads focusing on the anarchy on the streets. During the US Attorney General Barr House hearing Rep. Jordan played an "unauthorized" video montage contradicting narrative of "peaceful protests." Of course some think the federal officers sent to Portland to address the protests are a political ploy to bolster the Trump campaign by escalating protests. But other government more undercover operatives we can assume are at least sent in to gather intelligence, if not incite problems. The Dept. Homeland Security in their fusion centers operate rather secretly?</div><div><br></div><div>The Intercept published an article June 2, 2020 titled </div><div>"A Short History of US Law Enforcement Infiltrating Protests"</div><div>that offers discussion of some of these issues.</div><div>--------------------------------------</div><div>Vision2020 Post: Ted Moffett</div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div>on Wed, Jul 29, 2020 at 10:54 AM Nicholas Gier <<a href="mailto:ngier006@gmail.com">ngier006@gmail.com</a>> wrote:</div></div></div></div><div class="gmail_quote"><div class="gmail_attr" dir="ltr"><br></div><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="margin:0px 0px 0px 0.8ex;padding-left:1ex;border-left-color:rgb(204,204,204);border-left-width:1px;border-left-style:solid"><div dir="ltr"><div>I will add this to the longer version of my column for the DNews tomorrow. At the start of the protests in Minneapolis, one white man sparked instant outrage after he was recorded by Javier Morillo smashing the windows of an AutoZone, part of eventual damage estimated at $100 million in Minneapolis alone.<br><br>“Umbrella Man” was confronted by protesters because he stood out like a sore thumb, dressed in all black, wearing a face mask, and carrying an umbrella. He was the first to start damaging storefronts and protesters wondered aloud as they confronted him if he was an agent provocateur seeking to make the protesters look bad. Turns out, that is exactly what he was doing.<br><br>Tuesday, Jul 28, 2020 · 2:04:13 PM PDT · Jen Hayden<br>The suspect has been 32-year-old Mitchell Carlson. He has not yet been charged with a crime. <br><br>After the video went viral, many online falsely accused a Minneapolis police officer of being the man in question, but that was not the case. Months later, a tip finally came into the Minneapolis police department. According to the Minneapolis Star Tribune, the man is a member of the Hell’s Angels bike gang and a smaller white supremacist gang called the Aryan Cowboy Brotherhood. The police warrant noted the man in the video “wanted to sow discord and racial unrest by breaking out the windows and writing what he did on the double red doors.”<br><br>The warrant also noted the man’s actions seemed to change the course of the otherwise peaceful protest. “Until the actions of the person your affiant has been calling ‘Umbrella Man,’ the protests had been relatively peaceful. The actions of this person created an atmosphere of hostility and tension. Your affiant believes that this individual’s sole aim was to incite violence.”<br><br>Minneapolis police also told the Star Tribune the man is a member of the Aryan Cowboy Brotherhood, a small white supremacist prison and street gang based primarily in Minnesota and Kentucky. <br><br>Charges have yet to be filed and the man’s name has not yet been publicly released, but both seem imminent. “Enlightenment is man’s emergence from his self-imposed immaturity.
Immaturity is the inability to use one’s understanding without guidance
from another. This immaturity is self- imposed when its cause lies not
in lack of understanding, but in lack of resolve and courage to use it
without guidance from another. Sapere Aude! ‘Have courage to use your
