George R. Schipani, of Somerville, Massachusetts, were identified in January, the <a href="https://www.dpaa.mil/" target="_blank" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: rgb(46, 109, 157); text-decoration: none; font-family: "PT Serif", Georgia, Times, "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: 18px; -webkit-tap-highlight-color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0); -webkit-text-size-adjust: 100%;">Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency</a> announced Monday.</div><div><br></div><div>Schipani’s unit was involved in the <a href="https://www.armytimes.com/news/your-army/2019/03/19/remains-of-ohio-soldier-killed-in-korean-war-identified/" target="_blank" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: rgb(46, 109, 157); text-decoration: none; font-family: "PT Serif", Georgia, Times, "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: 18px; -webkit-tap-highlight-color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0); -webkit-text-size-adjust: 100%;">Battle of Unsan</a> and he was reported <a href="https://www.armytimes.com/news/your-army/2019/04/22/remains-of-wwii-soldier-identified-76-years-after-listed-as-mia/" target="_blank" style="box-sizing: border-box; color: rgb(46, 109, 157); text-decoration: none; font-family: "PT Serif", Georgia, Times, "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: 18px; -webkit-tap-highlight-color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0); -webkit-text-size-adjust: 100%;">missing in action</a> as of Nov. 2, 1950.</div><div><br></div><div>After the war, returning American prisoners said Schipani had been captured and died in a POW camp in February or March 1951.
