Whether it’s the specific memories of your childhood or certain habits that you’ve formed over the years, there’s no denying that Idaho has shaped the person you’ve become in some way or another. Here are 10 signs that you grew up in Idaho. How many do you identify with?</div><div><br></div><div><b>1. You find yourself constantly explaining where Idaho even is.</b></div><div><br></div><div><a href="http://www.moscowcares.com/Only_in_Idaho/Only_in_Idaho_111418_01.jpg">http://www.moscowcares.com/Only_in_Idaho/Only_in_Idaho_111418_01.jpg</a></div><div><br></div><div>And holding back rage when people exclaim "Oh, Iowa! I've been there before!". Explaining to people that Idaho even exists can be frustrating, but the plus side is that it means that Idaho will always remain our little secret.</div><div><br></div><div><b>2. You've got strong feelings about Boise State.</b></div><div><br></div><div><a href="http://www.moscowcares.com/Only_in_Idaho/Only_in_Idaho_111418_02.jpg">http://www.moscowcares.com/Only_in_Idaho/Only_in_Idaho_111418_02.jpg</a></div><div><br></div><div>You either love 'em or hate 'em. If you grew up in a "Bleed Blue" type of family then you've probably accumulated all sorts of blue and orange colored clothing items and decor. If you're more of a Vandals fan or you don't follow sports, you've undoubtedly come to despise any mention of Boise State—especially since BSU is the ONE thing that people from out of state seem to know about Idaho.</div><div><br></div><div><b>3. You've probably shot a gun before.</b></div><div><br></div><div><a href="http://www.moscowcares.com/Only_in_Idaho/Only_in_Idaho_111418_03.jpg">http://www.moscowcares.com/Only_in_Idaho/Only_in_Idaho_111418_03.jpg</a></div><div><br></div><div>It's just one of those Idaho things. Our gun laws are pretty lax and hunting is big here. Even if you don't own one, you've definitely seen them and maybe even shot one before.</div><div><br></div><div><b>4. You never shopped for a Christmas tree.</b></div><div><br></div><div><a href="http://www.moscowcares.com/Only_in_Idaho/Only_in_Idaho_111418_04.jpg">http://www.moscowcares.com/Only_in_Idaho/Only_in_Idaho_111418_04.jpg</a></div><div><br></div><div>You went out and cut one down. Buying a Christmas tree at a grocery store? Nonsense! Why would you do that when you can just go out into the woods and cut one down for yourself? This makes for a way more memorable experience anyway.</div><div><br></div><div><b>5. The mountains are your go-to getaway.</b></div><div><br></div><div><a href="http://www.moscowcares.com/Only_in_Idaho/Only_in_Idaho_111418_05.jpg">http://www.moscowcares.com/Only_in_Idaho/Only_in_Idaho_111418_05.jpg</a></div><div><br></div><div>No matter what season it is or what the weather is like, a mountain getaway always sounds good to you. After all, you probably grew up taking ski lessons in the winter and exploring the hiking trails in the summer. Oh, and you can't even imagine what it would be like to live in a state that DOESN'T have mountains. That's just no way to live.</div><div><br></div><div><b>6. The movie "Napoleon Dynamite" holds a special place in your heart.</b></div><div><br></div><div><a href="http://www.moscowcares.com/Only_in_Idaho/Only_in_Idaho_111418_06.jpg">http://www.moscowcares.com/Only_in_Idaho/Only_in_Idaho_111418_06.jpg</a></div><div><br></div><div>Although this cult classic is by no means an authentic portrayal of Idaho living, you still can't help but boast whenever it comes up in conversation. "Yeah, I've been to that town where they filmed the movie" or "My friend was an extra in the scene where Napoleon dances in auditorium".</div><div><br></div><div><b>7. Getting stuck in traffic has never been an excuse for being late.</b></div><div><br></div><div><a href="http://www.moscowcares.com/Only_in_Idaho/Only_in_Idaho_111418_07.jpg">http://www.moscowcares.com/Only_in_Idaho/Only_in_Idaho_111418_07.jpg</a></div><div><br></div><div>Let's be real. Traffic isn't bad here. We may whine a little bit when the commute to work takes 20 minutes instead of 15 minutes, but you've never really been able to say "Sorry, I got stuck in traffic".</div><div><br></div><div><b>8. You graduated with the same kids you went to kindergarten with.</b></div><div><br></div><div><a href="http://www.moscowcares.com/Only_in_Idaho/Only_in_Idaho_111418_08.jpg">http://www.moscowcares.com/Only_in_Idaho/Only_in_Idaho_111418_08.jpg</a></div><div><br></div><div>Families who settle down in Idaho tend to stay in Idaho and most of our communities are small towns. This means you probably grew up and graduated high school with the same bunch of kids. You also probably have a handful of friends you can literally say you've "known your entire life".</div><div><br></div><div><b>9. You never mind getting a little dirty.</b></div><div><br></div><div><a href="http://www.moscowcares.com/Only_in_Idaho/Only_in_Idaho_111418_09.jpg">http://www.moscowcares.com/Only_in_Idaho/Only_in_Idaho_111418_09.jpg</a></div><div><br></div><div>Here in Idaho, getting dirty isn't a bad thing—it's a way of life. You probably grew up playing in the mud and as an adult you enjoy doing the same in the form of outdoor recreation. If you get a little dirt under your fingernails, so be it. You know that the experience that comes with getting dirty is so worth it.</div><div><br></div><div><b>10. You always consider Idaho your home.</b></div><div><br></div><div><a href="http://www.moscowcares.com/Only_in_Idaho/Only_in_Idaho_111418_10.jpg">http://www.moscowcares.com/Only_in_Idaho/Only_in_Idaho_111418_10.jpg</a></div><div><br></div><div>Most people who were born and raised in Idaho actually stay in Idaho for their adulthood as well. However, if you do move away to another state, you still always consider Idaho your true home. Oh, and you definitely plan on coming back some day.</div></div><div><br></div><div>———————————————<br><br><div id="AppleMailSignature" dir="ltr"><div><span style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">Seeya 'round town, Moscow, because . . .</span></div><div><span style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);"><br></span></div><div><span style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">"Moscow Cares" (the most fun you can have with your pants on)</span></div><div><a href="http://www.moscowcares.com/" style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);"><font color="#000000">http://www.MoscowCares.com</font></a></div><div><span style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);"> </span></div><div><div><span style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">Tom Hansen</span></div><div><span style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">Moscow, Idaho</span></div></div><div><br></div></div></div></div></div></body></html>
