By making Third Street more adaptable to the cyclist, the benefit in moving people through the main corridor of our city would be a positive action. It would be even better if fewer cars could move through this corridor - not more - as they will when a motor-modal bridge is installed. Therefore, building a bicycle/pedestrian bridge would be the best answer to connecting all people and cost much less.</div><div><br></div><div>On the east side of Mountain View Road just up the hill from Third Street, a new housing development is planned. When the construction trucks travel from the gravel pits and concrete sites on the other side of town, it doesn't take much imagination to visualize the preferred route those big, heavy trucks will choose. It won't be the highway truck-route. It will be up and down Third Street. Straight shot.</div><div><br></div><div>Several congestion problems exist right now, but adding more automobiles and trucks to the Third Street corridor will only make more problems and less safety, not to mention more costs for Moscow taxpayers.
