To put it simply . . . She cares.</div><div><br></div><div><a href="http://www.tomandrodna.com/Photos/BJ_Swanson.jpg">http://www.tomandrodna.com/Photos/BJ_Swanson.jpg</a></div><div><br></div><div>Courtesy of today's (July 13, 2017) <i>Moscow-Pullman Daily News</i> with thanks to <span style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">Yvonne Slutz.</span></div><div><br></div><div>---------------------------------</div><div><br></div><div><div><h1 itemprop="headline" style="box-sizing: border-box; font-size: 42px; margin: 0px 100px 0px 0px; font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-weight: normal; line-height: 1.1; color: rgb(51, 51, 51); -webkit-tap-highlight-color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0); -webkit-text-size-adjust: 100%;">Letter: In support of Swanson</h1></div><div><br></div><div>I have been a resident of Moscow since 1956 and through the years have learned of different persons who have been active in our community on behalf of us all. Giving of their time and capabilities they have served on various committees and boards for the benefit of this community. BJ Swanson is one of these persons. She has demonstrated her integrity, honesty, openness and concern for this community through the years. I am appalled there has been no public outcry on her behalf as a result of the current goings on at Gritman.</div><div><br></div><div>Since when does a community nonprofit entity, Gritman Medical Center, not hold "open bids" on both insurance coverage and construction plans? Is there truly not a conflict of interest here? If not, then why is there any concern on behalf of any board person to inquire about such? Why wouldn't all of Moscow benefit from the clarity of the results? Why shouldn't the general board meeting that was held be an open one to any concerned persons?</div><div><br></div><div>It is well known that any officer of a nonprofit entity must demonstrate good intentions of "no conflict of interest" in issues that that person is involved in, or if not, raise the question of what's going on here. Why wouldn't that person want an investigation to clear up any concerns the public has?</div><div><br></div><div>BJ Swanson has been a good public servant and watchdog on our behalf serving on this nonprofit board. I would hope the Moscow community would rise to the occasion of wholehearted support for her retention and continuance of service on behalf of us all here in Moscow.</div><div><br></div><div>Yvonne L.
