Obedience to Christ, yes.

Compulsory or any other kind of "obedience" to anyone else, no. That's not Biblical and Wilson probably knows it -- but what better way to foster power in a faux-ministerial empire?

Like any other person, the Christian woman should do what her supervisor at work has lain out in her duties and job description. Like any spouse, she should not go bowling Friday night with her Hell's Angels buds if her husband has indicated that
he's uncomfortable with it. As is the case with all of us, she risks a ticket if she goes 55 in a 35 mph zone, and jail if she does so while drunk. And simple decency suggests that if your neighbor asks you to water their philodendrons during a two-week vacation,
the Christian woman should not agree to do it and then not do so or, worse, pour only marinara sauce on the houseplants, killing them.

But these are not examples of "obedience," and not what he means when he snipes out instructions just for women. The admonition to adorn herself in obedience is simply Wilson's tired and utterly un-Biblical attempt to strip women, all women, "his"
women especially, of agency, volition, personal power, and ultimately liberation. The New Testament Gospel doesn't allow for that, but fealty to the Gospel has never been a big concern to him, as evidenced by his many un-Biblical statements and beliefs.
