Developing the original film to a negative is one operation, and
making a print from a developed negative is another operation.<br>
The date on the back is at least the latter. Whether it is also the
former has not been revealed.<br>

The photograph is interesting in that it reveals Moscow before my
great-grandfather and his family arrived from Michigan.<br>
The date on the back of the print is after the family, including my
future father, moved to more northern counties.<br>

that the 1934 date was a result of someones
sorting or filing system. Film from the 1883 era
would not have done very well sitting
undeveloped for 51 years.
