Resident Nicole Beck shared these amazing photos of a kitten rescue as it unfolded in Pleasanton last week.</span></p><span id="ad-article-internal" style="box-sizing: border-box; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-top: 10px; display: block;"></span><p style="box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0px 0px 1.2em;"><span style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">“We saw these super awesome vet employees and a Hop Yard employee working really hard to rescue five kittens trapped under a wooden path,” Beck told Patch. “The vet had the mom already.” </span></p><p style="box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0px 0px 1.2em;"><span style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">Beck said the group, which included employees from the Pleasanton Veterinary Hospital and the Hop Yard Alehouse & Grill, worked diligently to unscrew the wooden boards along the walkway in order to free the felines, believed to be about three weeks old.</span></p><p style="box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0px 0px 1.2em;"><span style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">Pleasanton Veterinary Hospital receptionist Beth Long said the mother cat was discovered about three days before the kittens.</span></p><p style="box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0px 0px 1.2em;"><span style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">“The momma approached one of our veterinarians and was very sweet,” Long told Patch. “We fed and vaccinated her but were not sure where the kittens were. Three days later, the manager from the Hop Yard came to the clinic and said his restaurant guests could hear kittens meowing.”</span></p><p style="box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0px 0px 1.2em;"><span style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">Long said after the arduous process of removing the wooden boards was complete, all five kittens were rescued. The litter of kittens and another kitten recently brought to the clinic all successfully nursed once they were introduced to the mother cat.</span></p><p style="box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0px 0px 1.2em;"><span style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">“They have been fed, bathed and they are thriving,” Long said.</span></p><p style="box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0px 0px 1.2em;"><span style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">The kittens will be available for adoption in about six weeks.
