<html><head><meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8"></head><body dir="auto"><div>Courtesy of the Moscow-Pullman Daily News with special thanks to a friend.</div><div><br></div><div>---------------------------------</div><div><h1 id="blox-asset-title" style="font-size: 30px; outline: 0px; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; font-weight: 400; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; line-height: 34px; -webkit-text-size-adjust: 100%;"><span class="blox-headline entry-title" style="outline: 0px; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; color: rgb(204, 0, 0); line-height: 38px; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Pastor Steve McClure, 47, of Moscow</span></h1><p style="outline: 0px; margin: 10px 0px 0px; padding: 0px; line-height: 24px; background-image: none; float: none !important;"><span style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">Pastor Steve McClure, born Nov. 2, 1968, to Mel and Gaye McClure in Seattle, Wash., was called home by his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to his eternal reward in heaven on Feb. 14, 2016. He was 47.</span></p><p style="outline: 0px; margin: 10px 0px 0px; padding: 0px; line-height: 24px; background-image: none; float: none !important;"><span style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">Steve graduated from Tyee High School in Seattle and attended Concordia College in Portland, Highline College and Western Washington University where he graduated with degrees in journalism and political science. He had many jobs while going to school including security guard, gas station attendant and campground security guard at Lake Whatcom in Bellingham, Wash.</span></p><p style="outline: 0px; margin: 10px 0px 0px; padding: 0px; line-height: 24px; background-image: none; float: none !important;"><span style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">God moved Steve early on to touch the lives of others with His Spirit. He started in the newsroom in high school, college and newspapers ending with nearly 15 years at the Moscow-Pullman Daily News where he covered many news beats and worked 10 years as managing editor beginning in December 1999. An avid Husky fan, he also taught journalism classes at Washington State University in Pullman (Cougarville) while working at the newspaper.</span></p><p style="outline: 0px; margin: 10px 0px 0px; padding: 0px; line-height: 24px; background-image: none; float: none !important;"><span style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">It was also at the newspaper that he met and fell in love with fellow reporter Tina Crinite. The two always joked they were Clark Kent and Lois Lane working at the "Daily Planet." They were married on Aug. 31, 1996.</span></p><p style="outline: 0px; margin: 10px 0px 0px; padding: 0px; line-height: 24px; background-image: none; float: none !important;"><span style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">Following his work at the Daily News, Steve was called into the ministry and became an associate pastor at The Crossing church where he worked with the college and men's ministries.</span></p><p style="outline: 0px; margin: 10px 0px 0px; padding: 0px; line-height: 24px; background-image: none; float: none !important;"><span style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">He was a loving and fun Daddy who always enjoyed spending time with his family. Steve loved playing basketball and football with his boys, Garrett and Justin. They loved to watch Seahawks games and The Food Network together. He loved to cook and was famous for his potato hash breakfast, Big Daddy's Cheesy Chicken and Rice casserole and his amazing pesto and eggplant Parmesan during Italian New Year.</span></p><p style="outline: 0px; margin: 10px 0px 0px; padding: 0px; line-height: 24px; background-image: none; float: none !important;"><span style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">Steve loved coffee, especially the cortadito at Bucer's Coffeehouse, cheese and bacon on everything and tacos from Lamadrid. He always wanted a truck and a thriving garden but knew all things in this world were just temporary.</span></p><p style="outline: 0px; margin: 10px 0px 0px; padding: 0px; line-height: 24px; background-image: none; float: none !important;"><span style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">He was a committed pastor who loved to preach on Sunday, speak truth into eager college students and the many men he discipled, and counsel young couples before he married them. He loved to sing and enjoyed listening to worship music from morning til night when he wasn't reading and studying his Bible.</span></p><p style="outline: 0px; margin: 10px 0px 0px; padding: 0px; line-height: 24px; background-image: none; float: none !important;"><span style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">He was a devoted husband who prayed and cared for Tina during her battle with breast cancer. Tina and Steve loved every moment they had together raising their two amazing boys. He was a shining example of Christ when he himself underwent treatment for squamous cell carcinoma these past six months. He was determined to share God's love, truth and hope in every circumstance.</span></p><p style="outline: 0px; margin: 10px 0px 0px; padding: 0px; line-height: 24px; background-image: none; float: none !important;"><span style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">Steve believed in God's word with his whole heart and took comfort in Joshua 1:9, "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not be terrified. Do not be discouraged. For the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go."</span></p><p style="outline: 0px; margin: 10px 0px 0px; padding: 0px; line-height: 24px; background-image: none; float: none !important;"><span style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">Steve has joined his mother, Gaye; brother, Brian; and father-in-law, Big Al, in heaven, and awaits his wife, Tina; sons, Garrett, 14, and Justin, 8; father, Mel; mother in-law, Betty (Frankie); brother, Doug (Deanna); sister-in-law, Terry (David); his Uncle Mike and Aunt Judy; nephews, John, Danny, Logan and Ryan; niece, Lori; cousins; and a multitude of brothers and sisters in Christ.</span></p><p style="outline: 0px; margin: 10px 0px 0px; padding: 0px; line-height: 24px; background-image: none; float: none !important;"><span style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">There will be a celebration of Steve's life at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Moscow Church of the Nazarene, 1400 E. Seventh St. There will be a reception following the service at that location. There will also be a service in SeaTac, Wash., with the date and location still to be determined.</span></p><p style="outline: 0px; margin: 10px 0px 0px; padding: 0px; line-height: 24px; background-image: none; float: none !important;"><span style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the McClure Family Fund at Chase Bank or at The Crossing church in Moscow</span></p></div><div><br></div><div>---------------------------------</div><div><br></div><div>Rest well, Mr. McClure.<br><br><div><div><div><span style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">Tom Hansen</span></div><div><span style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">Moscow, Idaho</span></div></div><div>  </div></div></div></body></html>
