</b>City of Moscow Mayor Bill Lambert intends to forward Moscow resident Jim Boland to fulfill the soon to be vacated City Council position currently held by Tom Lamar who will resign effective January 4, 2015 to take his recently elected position at Latah
County Commissioner. The Council will consider the recommended appointment on December 15, 2014 at the regular City Council Meeting. Boland will fill the remainder of Lamar’s term which is set to expire at the end of 2015. Boland currently serves on the
City’s Planning and Zoning Commission.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify">Boland states he is, “honored to be considered for the position and he hopes to contribute to the greater good representing citizens of Moscow.”<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify">Lambert says of the recommendation, “Jim is a citizen dedicated to making Moscow a terrific community and I look forward to gaining his perspective and insight on City matters at the Council level.”<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify">Boland came to Moscow from Idaho Falls in 1972 to attend the University of Idaho. He graduated in 1978 with a degree in Animal Science and after a brief time away from the Palouse, returned to Moscow and the
UI, earning a Master’s of Business Administration in 1983. During that time, Boland married his wife of 37 years, Celia, a local professional fiber artist. Together they have two children, Kalen and Adrienne.
<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify">Boland owned and operated C&L Lockers in Moscow since 1988 and Hog Heaven Sausage Works since 2010. He has also served as president of the Rendezvous in the Park for eight years, and as a board member for many
more. He serves currently as the Chair of Programming. He is a musician and enjoys practicing and performing with his band “The Intentions.” Boland is also an avid bicyclist and skier and has recently completed the Tour Divide, a 2,750 mile bike trek. The
Tour begins in Banff, Canada and ends at the Mexican border. <o:p></o:p></p>
