<body class='hmmessage'><div dir='ltr'>I'm against the 'one size fits all' approach because it becomes a race to the bottom. That might be fine for mature / commoditized sectors, but it's not good for research / development / technology advancements. I'm all in favor of a level playing field within specific markets, but I'm also in favor of government incentives to boot strap these markets. Solar power and electric cars are a good examples. I'd personally like to see a directive for the United States take lead role in have the first humans set foot on Mars.<br><br><div><hr id="stopSpelling">Date: Wed, 10 Dec 2014 13:33:16 -0800<br>From: paul.rumelhart@gmail.com<br>To: thansen@moscow.com<br>CC: vision2020@moscow.com<br>Subject: Re: [Vision2020] yay! we passed $18 trillion!<br><br><div dir="ltr">Sure, that's basically what I mean. I believe in the free market, which means that we need a level playing field. No monopolies granted by the government, no special rules or tax breaks given to specific corporations. No taxes designed to change behaviors. Complete transparency so the buyer knows what they are buying, That would go a long way to helping things out, in my opinion.<br><br>Paul<br></div><div class="ecxgmail_extra"><br><div class="ecxgmail_quote">On Wed, Dec 10, 2014 at 12:21 PM, Tom Hansen <span dir="ltr"><<a href="mailto:thansen@moscow.com" target="_blank">thansen@moscow.com</a>></span> wrote:<br><blockquote class="ecxgmail_quote" style="border-left:1px #ccc solid;padding-left:1ex;"><div dir="auto"><div>Perhaps eliminate corporate tax breaks and government subsidies going to corporations?<span><br><br><div><span style="background-color:rgba(255,255,255,0);">Seeya 'round town, Moscow, because . . .</span></div><div><span style="background-color:rgba(255,255,255,0);"><br></span></div><div><span style="background-color:rgba(255,255,255,0);">"Moscow Cares" (the most fun you can have with your pants on)</span></div><div><a href="http://www.moscowcares.com/" style="background-color:rgba(255,255,255,0);" target="_blank"><font color="#000000">http://www.MoscowCares.com</font></a></div><div><span style="background-color:rgba(255,255,255,0);"> </span></div><div><div><span style="background-color:rgba(255,255,255,0);">Tom Hansen</span></div><div><span style="background-color:rgba(255,255,255,0);">Moscow, Idaho</span></div></div><div><span style="background-color:rgba(255,255,255,0);"><br></span></div><div><span style="background-color:rgba(255,255,255,0);">"There's room at the top they are telling you still.</span></div><div><span style="background-color:rgba(255,255,255,0);">But first you must learn how to smile as you kill,</span></div><div><span style="background-color:rgba(255,255,255,0);">If you want to be like the folks on the hill."</span></div><div><span style="background-color:rgba(255,255,255,0);"><br></span></div><div><span style="background-color:rgba(255,255,255,0);">- John Lennon</span></div><div><span style="background-color:rgba(255,255,255,0);"> </span></div></span></div><div><div class="h5"><div><br>On Dec 10, 2014, at 12:16 PM, Paul Rumelhart <<a href="mailto:paul.rumelhart@gmail.com" target="_blank">paul.rumelhart@gmail.com</a>> wrote:<br><br></div><blockquote><div><div dir="ltr"><div>Oh, I don't know.
