was so torn and unsure of herself that she had a limited support system, that
her family couldn't recognize, love and accept her identity, that her
grieving ( though narrow minded) family will now be the "poster family" for pro
and con on this issue, and will face unending scrutiny.....Nothing positive
here.</FONT></DIV>

<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>We have so far to go as a culture. I grieve for
everyone in this drama. I will light some candles and make some donations
tonight to GLBT organizations which support and EDUCATE parents and families of
those undergoing gender transitioning.</FONT></DIV>

<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>I have near and dear friends who have been through
this with a very different outcome---they were supportive parents, the
transitioning young person knew there was support and care, and that "she" would
still be loved as "he". He is doing very well, is highly regarded in his
profession, has a wife and children, and an extended family (all of whom accept,
appreciate, and love him).</FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>I have a hard time fathoming "conditional
love"....I think it says a lot more about the person whose love is sought than
the person who is seeking love. "I will only love you if........." is emotional
blackmail. It is a a moral and ethical crime. JMHO.</FONT></DIV>
