The event is designed to introduce the Moscow community and local businesses to students and to provide an opportunity to celebrate our community as a whole. The City and Chamber would like to provide a festive and enticing atmosphere for the September 26 event, as well as provide an incentive for businesses to participate. To do so, it is proposed that the restrictions relating to Sidewalk Cafeìs be adjusted for this event and as a pilot for potential future downtown events. The proposed adjustment to the restrictions would include allowing establishments to abut a neighboring businesses property lines rather than their own property lines, thereby expanding the available area for a Sidewalk Cafeì presence for an establishment. All other restrictions would still apply. The establishment would be required to file an amended Sidewalk Cafeì Licensed Area diagram to the City Clerk with written permission from the neighboring business allowing the extension of the area in front of the neighboring business. For those establishments permitted to serve alcohol, they would need to apply for a catering permit with the City of Moscow in accordance with State liquor regulations. It is proposed that fees for these adjustments for this event be waived.
