<div dir="ltr"><div>I'm a little bit late on this, but I wanted to say that I'm glad to hear that recreational pot is on the ballot there. I'm fully behind the idea because I think there ought to be a really good reason to criminalize something and I don't think marijuana meets the criteria. I think it should be regulated to the extent of not selling it to minors and not allowing people to drive under it's influence. It should have positive benefits related to reducing crime because it will no longer be a black market item.<br>

Recreational pot on Oregon ballot</h1><p style="margin-bottom:21px;overflow:visible!important"><span style="background-color:rgba(255,255,255,0)">SALEM – Oregon voters will decide this year whether to legalize marijuana for recreational use.</span></p>
<p style="margin-bottom:21px;overflow:visible!important"><span style="background-color:rgba(255,255,255,0)">State elections officials certified Tuesday that the petitioners submitted enough valid signatures to qualify the measure for the November ballot.</span></p>
<p style="margin-bottom:21px;overflow:visible!important"><span style="background-color:rgba(255,255,255,0)">Election workers said there were roughly 88,500 valid signatures – about 1,400 more than required.</span></p><p style="margin-bottom:21px;overflow:visible!important">
<span style="background-color:rgba(255,255,255,0)">The measure would allow adults 21 and older to buy and possess marijuana. It gives the Oregon Liquor Control Commission the job of regulating and taxing marijuana.</span></p>

The group backing this year’s effort has received contributions from some of the same donors who backed successful marijuana initiatives in Washington and Colorado.</span></p>
