is possible, arguably, for me to put aside Gov. Perry’s generally odious
political positions. And yet, I haven’t forgotten the name of his
ranch/hunting lodge. I can’t ignore his prurient interest in and
aberrant desire to prevent women from accessing health care that has not been
vetted and “permitted” by a group of nosey parker politicians including Gov.
Perry himself. It is <B>impossible</B> for me to excuse his murderous
love of the death penalty. <o:p></o:p></SPAN></P>

can anyone look at the images of these children on T.V. and not see in their

countless children who have turned away from our borders</A> and
returned to countries where their death was almost certain? For
some of those Central American children perhaps death would be better than a
short, torturous life as a pimped out child. <o:p></o:p></SPAN></P>

think these are complex issues far beyond my ability to address. I am not
culturally competent and I don’t speak Spanish. Thankfully, there are
thousands of others who are, and (bonus) well placed to do so.
Many of the children have extended family members they can live
with. Duval Patrick, governor of Massachusetts <A
href="http://www.ushmm.org/outreach/en/article.php?ModuleId=10007698">has a
message </A> that is worth reading. And, when he delivered it I
thought of those gun toting jackasses and their blowsy, bedangled harpies
screaming at a bus load of kids on their way to a WMCA camp, waving flags
pretending they are patriots. Not so much in my
book.<o:p></o:p></SPAN></P>

<P>While the number of unaccompanied youth crossing the border has doubled
to nearly 60,000 in the past year, the total number of undocumented
immigrants <A

mostly declined</SPAN></A>. About 1 million people have been caught crossing
the border nearly every year between 1983 until 2006, but that number has
dropped to about 400,000 in 2013.<o:p></o:p></P></DIV>

<P>At the same time, resources for border security have steadily increased:
More than 18,000 agents patrolled the border in 2013 compared to 10,000 a
decade ago.<o:p></o:p></P></DIV>

<DIV>
<P>And the amount spent on border security has more than doubled. The
Customs and Border Patrol budget jumped from $5 billion in 2002 to $12.4

<P>The issue has hit a national nerve. Protests have erupted along the
border with activists demanding immediate deportation. Counter protests have
also erupted, pointing out that many of the migrants are said to have fled
