(HAI) is inviting artists of all ages in our community to participate in the 1912 Center’s next hallway gallery show titled “Reigning Cats and Dogs" set to open at the begining of February.<br><br>This show of new, original work will be comprised of pieces based on the show’s theme of cats, dogs or both. All sizes and variety of media by artists of all ages are welcome. Work for the hallway gallery may have a relief of up to 3 inches. Sculptures are also welcome, provided they can be displayed in our Great Room display cabinets, which are 8 inches deep.<br><br>On Monday, February 3rd from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. participants may deliver a maximum of two finished, ready-to-hang pieces (framed, if appropriate) to the 1912 Center’s management office. The 1912 Center is located at 412 E. Third Street between Adams and Van Buren Streets and the office is located inside the Senior Center.<br><br>On Friday, February 7th from 5 to 8 p.m. an opening reception and “Best of Show” voting will take place at the 1912 Center. The reception is free and open to the public. It will feature music by the Gypsydawgs, free theme-appropriate snacks and take-home treats for your favorite furry friends.<br><br>Winners of the most votes for the favorite cat piece and the favorite dog piece will be awarded “Best of Show” along with the cash prize of $50.<br><br>The work will be displayed through March of 2014 and artists may choose to sell their work. Please provide sale prices when delivering.
