<div>Ms. Petersen,</div>
<div>I have just seen the sample ballots in the paper and am disturbed at the
consistent error throughout the county city council election listing. In
each case where there is more than one seat vacant, the instructions to the
voter are incorrect. The voter has the option to vote for fewer candidates than
the number of vacancies. In all cases, the ballot should instruct the
voter to for “upto” the number of vacancies. EX: for Moscow “Vote for upto
three.” When<font style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #ffffff"> <font>the county
instructs voters to vote for candidates whom they do not support</font></font>,
the voting processes becomes skewed, if not liable. This is a significant
error!</div>
<div> </div>
<div>I understand that the ballots have been printed and many people have
already voted absentee, but I feel it is imperative that a large sign be placed
at each election site stating the voters’ corrected instructions. </div>
<div>Each site should be directed at that city’s specific circumstance; for
example,</div>
<div> in Moscow, a sign must be visibly posted that
reads: “Corrected instructions for City Council Election: <strike>(Vote
for Three)</strike> should read (Vote for upto Three.)”</div>
<div> in Genesee, a sign must be visibly posted that reads:
“Corrected instructions for City Council Election: <strike>(Vote for
Two)</strike> should read (Vote for upto Two.)”</div>
<div> </div>
<div>This is not an issue of politics; both democrats and republicans are
adversely affected. The current ballots are simply wrong. The corrections
must be posted clearly for all voters to see so that the election is not
hindered by this unfortunate error.</div>
<div> </div>
<div>Thank you,</div></div></div></div></div></div>
