In response to perceived notions of what Obama might do in office, an extremist group of the Republican party was elected right after Obama was elected. They have vowed to oppose anything the president does or stands for. They do not want a legacy left to this administration which might be pleasing to the American public. It isn't just that Obama is a democrat, but there is something about him that is extremely disturbing to certain factions. He is confident, intelligent, sophisticated, charming, and competent. He got us out of Iraq, which he promised to do. His administration addressed a health care system that denies care to millions of Americans due to lack of insurance because they flat out can't afford it anymore on service industry wages. So what is
it about Obama that so many find disturbing to the point of hatred. Well, let's see, as I noted he is a democrat, he came from Chicago, he likes basketball, and all sorts of music, including certain rap tomes. Hmmmmmm, what disturbs people so? Can it be he is the face of modern America? Can it be that he is black? The stench of race relations in America is one that lurks just beneath the surface. And to have a black man as president, especially one who lacks the proper sense of "place," and ample ethnic humility is the ultimate insult to so many Tea Party extremists both in Congress and within those who voted for them. Let's clean up our mess and take a stand for reason and common sense.
