<html><body><div style="color:#000; background-color:#fff; font-family:times new roman, new york, times, serif;font-size:12pt">From what I've read, the going theory is that they can get around some legislation by not targeting anyone in particular when they are actually acquiring the data, but nothing stops them from targeting someone later.  <br><br>The idiocy of this amazes me.  The President said that their are oversights, that Congress knew about it, and that he thinks they have struck a nice balance.  Great.  Basically, "trust us".  Does he trust Sarah Palin's administration not to use this information to their benefit?<br><br>He also said that "no one is listening to your telephone calls".  That's nice, but that wasn't the question.  He didn't say that "no one is using your metadata to target you".<br><br>When they find whoever leaked that national security letter, we're going to have another Bradley Manning case
