The tendons in his back legs are too short, twisting the knee joints around.</span></p><p style="text-align: -webkit-auto; "><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">The issue can't be fixed surgically, but it doesn't mean that he can't have a normal life, veterinarians say. Other cats with the condition have thrived.</span></p><p style="text-align: -webkit-auto; "><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">"These kitties are not in pain," Sarasota vet Dr. Cynthia Juday explained. "They don't seem to know that anything's wrong."</span></p><p style="text-align: -webkit-auto; "><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">"He can walk fine," temporary foster mom Sue Kolze added. "He walks funny but he plays with the other cats."</span></p><p style="text-align: -webkit-auto; "><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">Special was picked up by Manatee Animal Services and is now in Kolze's care. But the 6-week-old is still hoping for a permanent home -- probably one without any dogs or other cats who might chase him, Kolze added.
