Information about the program was mailed to all City of Moscow residents on April 30, 2013. With the information is a tear-away survey asking residents to note their desired roll cart sizes. Citizens are encouraged to return the survey in the included postage-paid envelope to assist the City of Moscow in accurately ordering the right quantity and sizes of carts for this new program.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto;text-align:justify'> <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto;text-align:justify'>Latah Sanitation, the company the City of Moscow contracts with for solid waste (trash) removal, will supply the new carts to all residents currently using garbage can service. When deciding which cart systems will work best for a household, citizens are asked to remember that under the new system, garbage tags will no longer be accepted or used for extra waste. The correct sized cart should allow for occasional extra volume as extra bags will be assessed a charge of $6.40 per bag/item. Options for the carts include 35, 65 and 95 gallon capacities and an on-demand option. Typical garbage cans used by most households range from 32 to 36 gallons.
