That was the situation on March 23 in Friendship Square, at a
rally that was very poorly covered by the Daily News.</span></p><p style="outline:none;float:none;margin:10px 0px 0px;padding:0px;background-image:none;"><span style="">More than 100 people gathered in the square in a preplanned rally to show their support for responsible gun ownership, when four individuals with guns appeared across the street. Someone went to get police protection. Given the state of violence in our country and the history of gun attacks even in our community, some of the attendees were really worried and afraid.</span></p><div class="encrypted-content" style="outline:none;float:none;margin:0px;padding:0px;text-align:left;"><p style="outline:none;float:none;margin:10px 0px 0px;padding:0px;background-image:none;"><span style="">Nevertheless the rally continued for 45 minutes as planned with thoughtful presentations and inspiring songs. How sad that the Daily News article about this event actually featured a photo and in-depth coverage
of the men with guns rather than giving full details of the peaceful rally.</span></p></div><div class="encrypted-content" style="outline:none;float:none;margin:0px;padding:0px;text-align:left;"><p style="outline:none;float:none;margin:10px 0px 0px;padding:0px;background-image:none;"><span style="">And sad, too, was the fact the protesters said they were protecting their right to bear arms and to prevent having someone take their guns away. The rally made it clear that no one was after their guns, and indeed everyone respected guns properly owned for hunting and target practice.</span></p></div><div class="encrypted-content" style="outline:none;float:none;margin:0px;padding:0px;text-align:left;"><p style="outline:none;float:none;margin:10px 0px 0px;padding:0px;background-image:none;"><span style="">This was the first time I have ever seen guns displayed in Friendship Square. I hope it will be the last time, because we need honest, calm and reasoned
discussion about the issues involved as we strive together to lessen the possibility of future mass killings.</span></p></div><div class="encrypted-content" style="outline:none;float:none;margin:0px;padding:0px;text-align:left;"><p style="outline:none;float:none;margin:10px 0px 0px;padding:0px;background-image:none;"><span style="">We all need and deserve to feel and be safe.</span></p></div><div class="encrypted-content" style="outline:none;float:none;margin:0px;padding:0px;text-align:left;"><p style="outline:none;float:none;margin:10px 0px 0px;padding:0px;background-image:none;"><strong style="outline:none;float:none;margin:0px;padding:0px;">Joann Muneta</strong></p></div><div class="encrypted-content" style="outline:none;float:none;margin:0px;padding:0px;text-align:left;"><p style="outline:none;float:none;margin:10px 0px 0px;padding:0px;background-image:none;"><span style="">Moscow</span></p></div></div><div style="">-------------------------------------</div><div style=""><br></div><div style="">The Rally</div><div style=""><span style="font-size:15px;line-height:19px;white-space:nowrap;"><a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://www.moscowcares.com/antigunrally">http://www.moscowcares.com/antigunrally</a></span><br><br><div>Seeya round town, Moscow, because . . .</div><div><br></div><div>"Moscow Cares" (the most fun you can have with your pants on)</div><div><a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://www.MoscowCares.com/">http://www.MoscowCares.com</a></div><div> </div><div><div>Tom Hansen</div><div>Moscow, Idaho</div><div><br></div><div>"<span style="font-size:medium;">There's room at the top they are telling you still</span><span style="font-size:medium;"> </span></div><span style="font-size:medium;">But first you must learn how to smile as you kill </span><br style="font-size:medium;"><span style="font-size:medium;">If you want to be like the folks on the hill."</span></div><div><font size="3"><span style=""><br></span></font></div><div><font size="3"><span style="">- John Lennon<br></span></font><div> </div></div></div></td>
