Unfortunately there is a common story in Moscow of students returning home from parties and entering homes. And it doesn't always work out well. I know a story where eventually assault charges were filed and the whole event scarred the family, maybe even still bothers them. So I can't say I blame people for feeling threatened, especially if there is an intruder. Did homeowners call the police? One important thing is to get someone there to evaluate the situation.
