Police have notified the victim’s family but are not yet releasing the identity of the 18-year-old Middleton, Idaho, male.</span></p><p style="text-align: -webkit-auto; outline: 0px; float: none !important; margin: 10px 0px 0px; padding: 0px; background-image: none; "><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">Moscow Police received a call around 10 p.m. Friday from the victim’s roommate and the floor adviser, stating the student had a gun in his room. Officers responded to the call and removed a .45 caliber handgun, believed to be registered to the victim’s family. University of Idaho policy prohibits students from keeping guns in residence halls.</span></p><p style="text-align: -webkit-auto; outline: 0px; float: none !important; margin: 10px 0px 0px; padding: 0px; background-image: none; "><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">The victim later contacted the police to retrieve his gun and officers informed him he could pick it up Tuesday.
