</b>As the weather continues to change, bringing with it falling leaves and snow, the City of Moscow would like to remind citizens to dispose of leaves and other yard debris properly. Per Moscow City Ordinance, residents may not deposit materials, including
leaves and snow onto any city street. This law helps to avoid damage to expensive street cleaning equipment and prevents flooding issues from blocked storm drains.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify">Latah Sanitation and Moscow Recycling offer options for fall leaf collection, including a leaf and non-woody lawn and garden trimming collection service for City residents, occurring this year on November 14 and
28. Pick up must be requested in advance, call Latah Sanitation at 208.882.5724 or visit:<o:p></o:p></p>

24-hour drop-off site located directly behind Moscow Recycling on N. Almon Street or the Latah Sanitation Transfer Station on Highway 8 Monday through Saturday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. To contact Moscow Recycling call 208.882.0590.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify">Also, citizens are asked to familiarize themselves with the City of Moscow’s Snow Routes and Snow Removal Proclamation Ordinance. This program was adopted by the City Council in October of 2009, and is designed
to keep certain major streets better plowed and those streets are now designated as Snow Routes.

<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify">The Ordinance outlines the process for keeping Snow Routes plowed during major snowfall events and defines the Mayor’s authority to issue a Snow Event Proclamation. Once a proclamation is issued, people who have
vehicles parked on a Snow Route will have at least 12-hours’ notice (by radio, TV or newspaper) in order to move those vehicles off the street or to a non-designated Snow Route to allow snow plow crews to plow the entire street. After the 12-hour notice period,
vehicles that are not moved may be ticketed or towed to allow for plowing. A Snow Event Proclamation ends when the street has been cleared. The City will notify newspapers, radio and TV stations that the Snow Event Proclamation is over. For more information,
