Tom - you seem to be trying to make some sort of point that is completely orthogonal to the specific point of 'pro-life' women statistically have a 9x less chance of carrying a Down' syndrome pregnancy. Instead of directly addressing this statistical fact, you've now seemed to have discarded the aspects of whether women with Down's pregnancies are self-described as 'pro-life' or as 'pro-choice' and have instead now have brought up some kind of 'what if' scenario regarding the sexual orientation of pregnant women in general and what percentage of pregnant lesbians would seek abortions. Does this sum it up? Or is your non sequitor due to Donovan's assertion that you 'don't always take the time to read what others write and has a knee jerk reactions'. I'd guess the latter.<br><br>As for your comment regarding statistics about how many lesbians would seek abortion, I'd agree this would be a small number, but obviously it would be non-zero. It would depend on their specific situation. For example, they could be carrying a defective fetus and believe that it is unethical to bring a child into the world that is not whole and healthy. They could have a myriad of other reasons for seeking an abortion. I think that a pro-life woman is more like to have a baby with <span id="ecxmisspell-2" class="mark">Down's</span> because a pro-choice woman would be far more likely to abort it. Older women are also statistically more likely to have a baby with <span id="ecxmisspell-3" class="mark">Down's</span> and older women are statistically more likely to be pro-life as well. </span></div>

<div dir="ltr">I loved the stats Dale posted on his site. For instance, he had polling data that showed with some kooky accounting that 'The majority of Americans are pro-life'. Shortly thereafter, he had a post titled 'Search and Destroy' which showed that 92% of <span id="ecxmisspell-4" class="mark">Down's</span> Syndrome pregnancies are aborted. So let's say that both of these statistics are roughly accurate, but for crunching numbers more quickly let's say:<br>

<li>50% of American women are pro-life and the other 50% are pro-choice<br></li>
<li>90% of <span id="ecxmisspell-5" class="mark">Down's</span> Syndrome pregnancies are aborted (assume all these abortions are by self described 'pro-choice' women)</li>
<li>10% of <span id="ecxmisspell-6" class="mark">Down's</span> Syndrome pregnancies are carried to term (assume all these births are by hard core pro-life women who are also NOT pro-choice for other women)<br></li></ul><br><br>Clearly these numbers show that that by being 'pro-life', a woman SIGNIFICANTLY reduces her risk of having a <span id="ecxmisspell-7" class="mark">Down's</span> Syndrome pregnancy.
