CRAPO STATEMENT ON LOSS OF
CLEARWATER FIREFIGHTER


Boise - Idaho Senator Mike Crapo called on all Idahoans to pause this week =
to thank and offer a prayer for the safety of fire crews seeking to stop th=
e advancement of several wildfires burning throughout Idaho.  Crapo noted t=
he loss of 20-year old Anne Veseth, a student from Moscow who was in her se=
cond year of fighting summer wildfires.  She died when she was struck by a =
falling tree while fighting a fire near Orofino.

&quot;I have had the privilege of meeting with our brave fire crews near the fro=
nt lines and I have seen the dedication and herculean effort they put in to=
 keep us and our property safe from the threat of wildfire,&quot; Crapo said.  &quot;=
Our firefighters give an all-out effort into the path of danger and sometim=
es not all of them return.  The tragic death of Moscow resident Anne Veseth=
