</b>City of Moscow officials would like to remind and encourage customers to continue to conserve water while one of the City’s main sources of water, Well #9 remains out of service while the pump motor servicing that well is repaired.

<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify">The City appreciates everyone’s commitment to helping keep water use to a minimum. Officials understand the stress of the season with higher temperatures on landscaping and increased demand as residents try to
keep cool. The City thanks all residents for their assistance and helpfulness in this matter. In light of increased temperatures and with the return of students, conservation efforts will be very important in maintaining water supplies without introducing
restrictions. <o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify">Well #9 is one of the City’s primary wells and supplies approximately 40% of the City’s drinking water. The pump should be replaced by early September. In July the average water consumption was 3.6 million gallons
per day and in the first five days of August that average climbed to 3.9 million gallons per day. Total current capacity with Well #9 out of service is 4.5 million gallons per day. Should the average gallon per day use approach the maximum of 4.5 million
gallons, water restrictions will need to be implemented to ensure service to the community, such as a mandatory irrigation reduction or prohibition. <o:p></o:p></p>
