<div style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt; RIGHT: auto" class=MsoNormal><FONT size=3 face="Times New Roman">The reasoning for this obtuse action appears to be to help nominate more moderate contenders for the GOP that share less of their conservative values at the expense of ever electing a Democrat that would represent their real interests. It is politically akin to abandoning your own child and adopting the child that bullied him so you no longer have a child that gets beat up every time he enters the playground. </FONT></div>

<div style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt" class=MsoNormal><FONT size=3 face="Times New Roman">This strategy which involves the process of abandoning the Democratic Party was a flawed strategy in <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><st1:PlaceName w:st="on">Kootenai</st1:PlaceName> <st1:PlaceType w:st="on">County</st1:PlaceType> that has resulted in its virtual non-existence today,<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>and will be a flawed policy to follow today in any <st1:State w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Idaho</st1:place></st1:State> county for several reasons that will hurt your political agenda and your wallet.</FONT></div>

<div style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt; RIGHT: auto" class=MsoNormal><FONT size=3 face="Times New Roman">First, you cannot be a member of the Republican Party and the Democratic Party at the same time. So the Democratic Party will have to shrink from a small party to an almost non-existent one. It will not be able to organize because it won't know who the Democrats are because they are no longer registered as Democrats. Democratic leaders won't know who to ask for help, resources, and what concerns and issues are facing their communities. Conservative voters will be more likely to move to <st1:State w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Idaho</st1:place></st1:State> and liberals more likely to move out widening the gap.</FONT></div>
<div style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt" class=MsoNormal><o:p><FONT size=3 face="Times New Roman"> </FONT></o:p></div>
<div style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt; RIGHT: auto" class=MsoNormal><FONT size=3 face="Times New Roman">Second, there will be even less dollars for jobs and education coming to <st1:State w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Idaho</st1:place></st1:State> from the Federal Government and others if over 60% of voters are registered Republicans and only Republicans hold office. There is no political risk for federal level Republicans not to send tax dollars to <st1:State w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Idaho</st1:place></st1:State>, and there is no gain to be had by federal level Democrats to send money to a state that will not give anything up in return. Special interest money will only go into the hands of Republican leaders and it will be funneled into races where a Democrat might of otherwise had a shot at winning. No business or organization is going to send money to Democrats that have no power, no office, no influence and no chance of obtaining any of them.

<div style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt" class=MsoNormal><FONT size=3 face="Times New Roman">Finally, <SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>by voting in the Republican Party for the most appealing candidates you will be strengthening the Republicans by nominating acceptable candidates to mainstream voters. You will be pitting a highly funded very appealing candidate against your own Democrat with no funding, no resources, no media attention, and no way to contact formerly registered Democrats for help in the General Election. </FONT></div>

<div style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt" class=MsoNormal><FONT size=3 face="Times New Roman">The smartest strategy is to leave the most conservative of Republicans to nominate a candidate of their choosing in a closed door selection process. Rest assured these candidates they choose will make our Democratic nominees look like the only sane choice for the General Election to most voters. </FONT></div>
