<DIV>Hey there. HIPPA is about more than losing ones job. Folks who
work in the medical community are not only violating the law but violating the
ethics of their chosen profession when they discuss medical conditions of their
patients. Donovan, you are right to withhold that information, but what
you have written is important nonetheless. I am my daughter’s guardian so
I can release her information, and I can tell you, despite the fact she is on
Medicaid and to this point has received most of her medications at no cost or
with a small co-pay, she has a pharmaceutical drug bill every month. I
worry each time I open the envelope she’ll have lost something else. She
is uninsurable... and in the past year she has lost state support for
counseling, vision, hearing aids, dental (yes, it has been restored but I can’t
find a local dentist who will accept it,) and we have now been told she will be
losing support for job coaching which has kept her employed for the past fifteen
years. Our three legislators fought a valiant fight for her during the
past session when her budget was cut by more than 30%, and were told she
wouldn’t be losing any more benefits. That is proving to be not
true. </DIV>

medications they need to live or have a normal life because they don't have
