Do you people even know what it means to be "tolerant" of
something? I hold the same view you do about the authenticity of
Wilson's views on historical slavery. I suspect that he's filtered
the facts so that he only sees what he wants to see on the subject.
However, I can still be tolerant of his views. His fantasy (I'm not
a historian, but I'm going with the standard view on this until I
see a reason not to) about how slavery worked in the Old South does
not make him an evil man that others should be incapable of dealing
with. It makes him wrong, as far as I know, but it doesn't make him
evil. <br>
<br>
And, yes. Hate crimes are horrific enough to raise me from my
typical unfeeling slumber. They are bad enough that even I, a man
so inured to suffering in others that I would laughably argue
outright for tolerance, of all things, can feel horrified by them.
In fact, as a person who thinks that others should be more tolerant
of each other, I find hate crimes especially egregious. Also, not a
big fan of present day slavery, despite my compassion deficiency.<br>
<br>
Oh, and I apologize to the world, once again, for being born white,
male, and middle-class. And since my religion allows for my having
had a choice in how that would turn out before the fact, then I
really have no one to blame but myself.<br>

community", then they might not have been so quick to accuse
some of you of vandalism when they reported the incidents to
the police. Go out of your way to make yourself someone's
enemy, and they will think of you first when something like
that happens to them.<br>
