I find it strange that we haven't been deluged by snow so far (knock
on wood!). I would have sworn a few months ago that we would be
knee-deep in the stuff by now. It's a good example of the
complexity of the climate, when relatively simple rules of thumb
like "usually indicates above average precipitation for the US
Northwest winter" don't always seem to hold. One of the reasons I
feel there is room for honest skepticism of the models and expected
results of anthropogenic climate change. In what is (I think) a
well-intentioned effort to closely examine the "CO2 drives climate"
hypothesis, climate scientists have minimized the impacts of natural
variation in what is a very complicated system.<br>

Besides, winter ain't over yet.<br>
