</span></b><span style="font-size:11.0pt;color:black">Linda Pall received the Ismat Ara and Abdul Mannan Sheikh Community Unity Award at a ceremony in Moscow’s 1912 Center on Thursday November 17. The event was hosted by Moscow Human Rights Commission and the
City of Moscow. The biannual award, presented by the mayor, recognizes extraordinary contributions to diversity, inclusion, human rights, and public service in Moscow and the surrounding area. It honors the memory of two outstanding citizens for whom it is
named. For years, the couple hosted Thanksgiving dinners, with an open invitation to anyone.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:6.0pt"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;color:black">The couple’s children, Mahmood Sheikh of Boise and Amtul Siddiqui of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, and their families attended Thursday’s award ceremony. Pall’s
son, Zachary Pall of Boise, was also present.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:6.0pt"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;color:black">Pall was a charter member of Latah County Human Rights Task Force, and was instrumental in establishing Moscow Human Rights Commission and the Finding the Center Human
Rights Conference. <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p style="mso-margin-top-alt:0in;margin-right:0in;margin-bottom:6.0pt;margin-left:0in">
<span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"">Pall is an adjunct professor of business law at Washington State University, and maintains a private law practice in Moscow, emphasizing civil rights, employment law, and family law.
<span class="googqs-tidbit">She chairs the Diversity Section and </span>Family Law Section<span class="googqs-tidbit"> of the Idaho State Bar,
</span>is on the governing council of the Business and Corporate Law Section, and was appointed as Associate Professor and Coordinator of Business Law for the College of Business at Washington State University. Pall coordinates WSU’s Business Law and Ethics
Symposium, an annual Pacific Northwest meeting of practitioners, scholars, and business leaders, committed to improving the ethical practices of law and business.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:6.0pt"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;color:black">Pall was elected to Moscow City Council in 1977, and served eighteen years as a local elected official. She supported City sponsorship of activities to enhance citizen
participation in government and to improve citizen-government communications. <o:p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:6.0pt"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;color:black">United Vision for Idaho named her Idaho Progressive Leader of the Year in 2006. She received the Rosa Parks Human Rights Award from the Latah County Human Rights Task
Force in 2002; the National League of Cities Distinguished Service Award from the National Black Caucus of Local Elected Officials (NBC-LEO) in 2000; the NLC Excellence in Leadership Award from NBC-LEO in 1998; the Idaho State Bar Distinguished Service Award
in 1997; and the Idaho State Bar Family Law Section Award of Distinction in 1990.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:6.0pt"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;color:black">The award consists of a plaque for the recipient, and inclusion of their name with those of previous recipients on a plaque housed in City Hall, and on a commemorative
stone in East City Park.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
