Are you watching the GOP debates? I almost hope one of them wins, just to hear "Hail to the Chief played on calliope.
</p><p>
I worry about Mitt Romney 'cause he's showing early signs of Dutch Elm disease. It's a recycled joke for a recycled candidate. Mitt Romney is like one of those songs from a few years ago that when it first comes on you say, "What is this song?..." and then you recognize it and say, "Oh, I HATE this song."
</p><p>
Rick Perry unveiled his big economic plan called Cut, Balance and Grow. He names all of his plans after his hair. He shot a coyote while jogging - he claims it's true. And that'll be useful skill if he's, say, negotiating a Middle East peace and there's, you know, a coyote. He's still got a lot of support from people who believe that America should secede from the union.

And Herman Cain - pause for laugh. People are saying that "Nine, Nine Nine" is the emergency number for pizza delivery, but I think he got the phrase from one of those women at the Restaurant Association. She’s German.

I'm taking the Starving Ear to all fifty states, as anyone knows who's heard me flap my jaws about it. I've been saying that even in the reddest of states, I find bright blue dots - groups of Progressive people doing good work in places where that is not easy. And my idea is to connect the bright blue dots and make a picture of America - that’s what I've been saying. Now I find that there's actually a group CALLED Brite Blue Dot in Birmingham, Alabama.
