<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Verdana>Below is a Vision 2020 post from about a month
ago discussing reports of discontent and suspicion from some members of the
Christ Church Cult. Aside from the issues of consolidation and a change of
pastors, an irritating thorn in the paws of some congregants concerns the
absence of having a church building despite continuing promises and monies
raised (read: sucked out of congregants and others). "Where is our
church?" "Where has all the money gone?" Etc?</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Verdana></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Verdana>One wonders if a news article from the
Tuesday, November 1, 2011 <EM>Daily News</EM> (also below) will cause that buzz
to grow into a grumbling, thundering rumble.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Verdana></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Verdana>Although Real Life Ministries has been in the
Spokane and Post Falls area for a number of years, they have only been on the
Palouse for about three years. [Among their present congregation are
some former Christ Church Cult members and also some former Living Faith
Fellowship Cult members.] Yet after being here for a short
time Real Life Ministries is about to build a new church and in a
location (Moscow-Pullman Rd/Airport Rd intersection) calculated to draw both
Moscow and Pullman worshipers.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Verdana></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Verdana>One wonders if a second new church (first = E
Free) being built in the area before Cultmaster Wilson's long standing promises
of a grand cathedral come to fruition and seem years away from ground
breaking has caused current Christ Church Cult Members to really begin to
wonder about their pastor and what he is spending their money on. I can't
believe that the cries of "Where is <STRONG>OUR</STRONG> church?" are going to
die down now despite more empty reassurances and promises. I wonder if
this development will engender more and more strident cries for the
installation of Toby Sumpter as the pastor of a combined Christ Church/Trinity
Reformed Church. </FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Verdana></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Verdana>Will this development also cause a real distrust
to arise in the CCC congregation of the present Christ Church Elders and raise
questions about who they are serving: the congregation or Cultmaster
Wilson (who holds the power of employment over most of the elders)?</FONT></DIV>

<DIV><B>Subject:</B> Buzz</DIV></DIV>
<DIV><BR></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Verdana>Has anyone heard the latest buzz from the Christ
Church Cult?</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Verdana></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Verdana>Apparently, a number of congregants, carefully
but courageously in private discussions, would like to see Christ Church
and sister church Trinity Reform recombined and be pastored by the popular Toby
Sumpter. Douglas Wilson would become the "honored emeritus" pastor and
left to do his theological misadventures without them becoming binding on, an
embarrassment to, and a financial burden on the
congregation.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Verdana></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Verdana>Perhaps under Sumpter, some speculate, truly
inspirational sacred music other than a steady diet of the mostly musically
dreary Psalms could be had in celebrating worship.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Verdana></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Verdana>And, of course, "Why does E-Free have a beautiful
new church/worship center and we have nothing but a almost useless, odd-shaped
vacant lot? Where has all the money gone? Are there unreported
contributions going to who knows where? Why aren't we given a complete
accounting of all monies collected and spent for all the
past years? Where is our church?"</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Verdana></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Verdana>I wonder what would happen if the cult
elders had the integrity and personal courage to allow a binding vote
via secret ballot of all the congregants of both churches on the issues of
combining the churches and the change in pastors with the ballots counted by an
outside, objective agency? I wonder what would happen if the cult
elders provided congregants with a complete, detailed accounting of
collections and disbursements for the past several years?</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Verdana></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Verdana>Instead, the congregants are most likely only to
get the Nixonian "Just trust me."</FONT></DIV>

<H1 style="FONT-SIZE: 24px">Church wants to relocate in Pullman-Moscow corridor
</H1>
<P><STRONG>Staff report | Posted: Wednesday, November 2, 2011 12:00 am
</STRONG></P>
<P>Local church Real Life Ministries is looking to build on the Crossroad
Nursery property in the Pullman-Moscow corridor, despite a current code
prohibiting churches from locating on that stretch of land.</P>
<P>Shelley Bennett, broker at Palouse Commercial Real Estate, asked Whitman
County commissioners Monday to consider amending that code and allowing the
church to obtain a conditional use permit.</P>
<DIV class=encrypted-content>
<P>"It befuddles me because ... churches are almost always allowed for
conditional use, but I've never seen them exempted from an area," Bennett said.
"I do understand that it's revenue based but ... I think what we'd all like to
see is the corridor develop and connect the two towns."</P></DIV>
<DIV class=encrypted-content>
<P>Real Life Ministries, which hosts a congregation of about 1,500, has been
"crammed" into its current location at the Schweitzer Event Center in Pullman,
Bennett said, and the congregation is continuing to grow. She said the site is
an ideal location because members of Real Life Ministries come from the entire
region - also because it is located at a lighted intersection and adjacent to a
large commercial development.</P></DIV>
<DIV class=encrypted-content>
<P>Alan Thomson, Whitman County planning director, said commissioners could
either send the issue through the planning commission first, which could take
four to six weeks, or they could handle it themselves, which can expedite the
process.</P></DIV>
<DIV class=encrypted-content>
<P>That has happened in the past when the commission is particularly busy,
Thomson said, which is also the case at this time.</P></DIV>
<DIV class=encrypted-content>
<P>County commissioners decided to take the issue upon themselves and will hold
a public hearing before the code is officially changed.</P></DIV>
<DIV class=encrypted-content>
<P>"Obviously anything in the corridor is a particular area of interest," said
Commissioner Greg Partch. "It doesn't sound very complicated, we're talking
about one issue, and I'd like to see us take it up ourselves ... I'd just like
to shorten the process."</P></DIV>
