An interesting bit of information turned up recently (do a Web search for "Oil Change International"). It suggests that the demand for oil in the U.S. is declining (recession and more mileage friendly cars). So when the Alberta crude gets to Texas, Valero will refine it into diesel fuel and then export it to South America and China (where the new rich love diesels).
