In past years George was often in attendance at White Pine chapter meetings. For those of you who have not yet heard, I regret to inform you that George Hatley passed away on Sept. 16. George was a life-long resident of the Palouse, an area farmer and cattleman, hunter, conservationist, and wildlife enthusiast, as well as past executive director of the Appaloosa Horse Club, and founder of the Appaloosa Museum. He was a charter member and long-time supporter of the Palouse Prairie Foundation. He spoke several times to PPF and to the Audubon Society regarding the wildlife of the Palouse. A celebration of his life will be held in the UI Administration Auditorium at 2:00 PM on Oct 15. We will all miss him.
