mid-October at the Backyard Harvest shed, 933 East 7th (corner of 7th and
Blaine). <BR>Learn about canning, drying, freezing, pickling, and jamming under
the direction of an experienced food preserver. Participants will share the work
and take home food for their pantries. Cost is $15 (free for SNAP/WIC

Class size limited to 12. <BR><BR><B>Good Food Film Series </B><BR>The Moscow
Food Co-op presents “Queen of the Sun: What are the Bees Telling Us?” as part of
the Good Food Film Series. The film will be shown at 7 p.m., Wednesday, August
24 at the Kenworthy Performing Arts Centre at 508 S. Main in downtown Moscow,
Idaho. Admission is $6 general public, $4 Co-op members. <BR><BR>Movie-goers
will be treated before the film begins to a sampling of foods featuring honey,
or produce pollinated by honeybees. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Social time and
discussion will follow this entertaining and thought-provoking film.
<BR><BR><B><I>Film summary:</I></B> “Queen of the Sun: What Are the Bees Telling
Us?” is a profound, alternative look at the global bee crisis from Taggart
Siegel, director of The Real Dirt on Farmer John. The film takes us on a journey
through the catastrophic disappearance of bees and the mysterious world of the
beehive, this engaging and ultimately uplifting film weaves an unusual and
dramatic story of the heartfelt struggles of beekeepers, scientists and
philosophers from around the world, including Michael Pollan, Gunther Hauk and
Vandana Shiva. Together they reveal both the problems and the solutions in
renewing a culture in balance with nature. </FONT><A
