Surely supposedly professional journalists should have been as curious about a candidate for the presidency of the United States as they are about a former state governor and unsuccessful vice-presidential candidate. And now Obama wants to be re-elected. Is the so-called mainstream press interested in redeeming its reputation, or is that consideration trumped by a political agenda? Are all those unanswered questions to remain so?
