</b>The City of Moscow will host a meeting on Wednesday, May 11, at 7 p.m. regarding Imperial Oil/ExxonMobil’s proposal to transport oversized loads on U.S. 95 through Moscow.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">The interactive public meeting will be held at the Hamilton Indoor Recreation Center, 1724 East F Street in Moscow. Representatives from Imperial Oil/ExxonMobil and the Idaho Transportation Department will be present to make a short presentation
and answer questions from the public.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"> <o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">"This meeting is intended to help everyone understand what is being proposed and how it could affect our community," said Moscow Mayor Nancy Chaney. "It will also allow the Idaho Transportation Department and Imperial Oil/ExxonMobil to
hear people’s concerns and respond to questions."<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"> <o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Imperial Oil/ExxonMobil is proposing to transport approximately 60 oversized loads from the Port of Lewiston on U.S. 95 and Interstate 90 into Montana. As of this date, no permits have been issued by either state.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">The largest proposed shipment is 24-feet wide, 15-feet-10-inches tall and 207-feet long, including the transport truck and trailer. The heaviest proposed load weighs 165,347 pounds, not including the transport truck and trailer. An estimated
six to ten support vehicles would comprise the convoy including pilot cars and Idaho State Police escort vehicles.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">As proposed, each shipment would move between 10 p.m. and 5:30 a.m., and take three nights to travel from the Port of Lewiston to the Idaho-Montana state line at milepost 18.3. Traffic delays would be limited to a maximum of 15 minutes.

<p class="MsoNormal">Motorists using U.S. 95 would be guided around the shipments by a pilot car/flag person or wait at designated pullouts. Vehicles on I-90 would be guided around the loads by pilot car. Two Idaho State Police vehicles would be hired by Imperial
Oil/ExxonMobil to accompany the oversized loads for traffic management and coordination of emergency services.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">The Idaho Transportation Department is reviewing the travel plan submitted by Mammoet, the transport company, to carry oversized loads on U.S. 95 and I-90. No timetable has been set for the completion of its review or for the possible issuance
of permits.<o:p></o:p></p>
