No, the evidence at the time was not that there were WMDs. For example, the Bush administration knew that there was no yellow-cake uranium, but said there was anyway. and when Joe Wilson reported on this Dick Cheney outed his wife as a CIA agent in retribution.<br>

I won't argue that the war in Iraq was not a mistake. It may have been, but the evidence at the time was that there were WMD. The fact that none were found does not mean that they did not have any. They did use biological weapons on the Kurds. You are right that it contributed to the debt. I do not think that it had anything to do with the recession.<br>
