<P>Twin Falls, Idaho (KMVT) - A Gooding man was sentenced Tuesday for his role
in the death of a six month old boy earlier this year.</P><!--startclickprintexclude-->
<DIV id=relatedholder>
<DIV id=relatedmedia>In late January Jason Blunt, 25, was arrested and charged
with involuntary manslaughter in the death of six month old James
Osborne.</DIV></DIV>
<P>At the time Blunt was caring for the infant while Samantha Savage, the boy's
mother and Blunt's girlfriend, was at work.</P>
<P>Blunt pled guilty to involuntary manslaughter in late april.</P>
<P>A Gooding police report said that the child may have been shaken while Blunt
was caring for him; doctors said James Osborne died of a brain hemorrhage.</P>
<P>Tuesday, 5th District Judge John Butler said the autopsy report said the
baby's cause of death was blunt force trauma, not shaking.</P>
<P>Butler said while Blunt appeared to be truly remorseful for the child's
death, Butler could not ignore the pain Blunt had caused the family.</P>
<P><STRONG><FONT color=#ff0000>The judge ordered Blunt to pay $1,000 restitution
for funeral expenses, in addition to the jail time he'll serve of 3 years fixed
and 3 indeterminate.</FONT></STRONG></P></DIV></FONT></DIV>
