Carl,

I have to laugh every time an issue like this comes up. Back in 2007, while still on active duty in the Army, My security clearance came up for updating and review. It's now done by contractors rather than the military itself,

and the contractor wanted to know WHY my home of record was the capitol Russian Federation, Moscow, and why I had a Russian e-mail account, moscow.com! He was convinced that MOSCOW IDAHO didn't exist and he implied that if I was a "good american" I'd have an american e-mail account! He then referred my case to the senior clearance official in my chain of command, which thank God, was ME! So needless to say, I had to review the report of the army officer that lived in Moscow and had a "russian" e-mail account! Needless to say, I granted myself the waiver and the waiver for the General that I was working for as he lived in St. Petersburg!!!!! The folks that got the biggest laugh over this one were the Russians in the detachment we had from the Russian Federation! When I was decorated the silver medal of the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, they mentioned that now I'd really get into trouble! Makes me wonder just how accurate other security files such as the no fly lists are!

Wayne

On Apr 5, 2010, at 1:35 PM, keely emerinemix wrote:

Silly Carl. You were clearly referring to your own, private "Idaho." Everyone has one; you just needed to try to tap into her own private Idaho, although migrating to hers is probably more than anyone can do over a list of electronic customer service options, no matter how charming and full of savoir faire the original Idahoan is.

Keely
www.keely-prevailingwinds.com

From: idahovandal1@live.com
To: vision2020@moscow.com
Date: Mon, 5 Apr 2010 13:27:44 -0700
Subject: [Vision2020] Is there an Idaho?

This has nothing to do with anything, but I had to call Social Security this morning. In dealing with the very nice, pleasant robot lady on the phone, I was asked what state I was born in. I replied very clearly with "Idaho". To which she pleasantly, if robotically, said, "I believe you said Puerto Rico. Is that correct?" I said no, and she again asked me which state I was born in. "I-D-A-H-O", I repeated clearly. Pause. "I'm sorry, I can't understand you. We'll just skip this part." I'm not sure we exist.

Hotmail is redefining busy with tools for the New Busy.
