"Getting self-righteous"?

OK. I get called "sanctimonious" fairly often, and it's clear I probably deserve it sometimes, but there's no moral equivalence at all -- and I'm sure you didn't intend to suggest otherwise -- between "racism" and "anti-racism." I would much, much rather risk "self-righteousness" here than dare ignore the evil and the ugliness, not to mention the threat, of racism anywhere, any time, it rears its head around me.

In this case, "righteous" can only be ascribed to those who hate and fight against racism. There's no "self" in it -- it's just the only decent response to the indecent.

Keely
www.keely-prevailingwinds.com

> Date: Sat, 20 Mar 2010 08:58:41 -0700
> From: godshatter@yahoo.com
> To: thansen@moscow.com
> CC: vision2020@moscow.com
> Subject: Re: [Vision2020] Racist Fliers Distributed in Southern Idaho
>
> I'd just like to remind everyone that Freedom of Speech is more
> important than whatever it is that these fliers say.
