vehicles were struck with bullets this afternoon and the search
continues for a sniper in the Helmer area. Latah County Sheriff's
officials say Highway 8 north of Deary has been reopened after being
closed earlier following reports of shots being fired. Semis and other
vehicles reported being hit by bullets. No one was injured. The

As of 4:12 P.M. U-Idaho has learned local law enforcement agencies have
closed Hwy 8 in Deary (east of Moscow) due to an incident. Traffic is
unable to get through to neighboring areas, including Bovill. It is not
known at this time when the highway will reopen. Monitor local media
