Co-op Donates $432 to The Humane Society of the Palouse*<BR>* *<BR>The Humane
Society of the Palouse received $432 from the Moscow Food <BR>Co-op’s /A Dime in
Time/ community donation program in November.<BR><BR>The Co-op's/ //A Dime in
Time/ program was created to support local, <BR>non-profit organizations. Co-op
shoppers currently receive a 10-cent <BR>discount when they use their own bags
or coffee cups. Co-op customers <BR>now have the option to donate those dimes to
the organization selected <BR>as that month's recipient.<BR><BR>In November
shoppers donated 4,320 dimes to The Humane Society of the <BR>Palouse, a
non-profit whose mission is to ensure the humane treatment, <BR>welfare, and
safety of companion animals in Moscow and Latah County. The <BR>Human Society
will use funds from the Co-op’s /A Dime in Time/ program <BR>for basic animal
and veterinary care.<BR><BR>Future recipients include Sojourners’ Alliance in
December and Alliance <BR>House in January.<BR><BR>Local groups interested in
being selected to receive future awards can <BR>submit a grant application found
on the Co-op’s website <BR>(_www.moscowfood.coop <</FONT><A

size=3>http://www.moscowfood.coop/</FONT></A><FONT face="Times New Roman"
size=3>>_). A committee made <BR>up of two Co-op board members, two Co-op
staff members, and two Co-op <BR>customer members will review the applications
and select recipients each <BR>quarter.<BR><BR>The Co-op is located at 121 East
