Department has been working on updating the City’s current 1999
Comprehensive Plan over the course of the last two years. The development
process has included 9 focus group interviews, 27 neighborhood meetings, 2
community meetings, 4 open house meetings and 15 meetings of the twenty-three
member Steering Committee throughout the development process. The final draft
was presented to the City Council and Planning and Zoning Commission during
their joint meeting on March 11<sup>th</sup>, 2009 and the City Council also
held a joint meeting with the Latah County Board of <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:PlaceType
w:st="on">County</st1:PlaceType> <st1:PlaceName w:st="on">Commissioners</st1:PlaceName></st1:place>
on August 24<sup>th</sup>, 2009 to discuss the long-range transportation
components of the draft Plan. The Planning and Zoning Commission conducted a
public hearing on the draft Plan on October 28<sup>th</sup>, 2009 and
unanimously recommended approval of the Comprehensive Plan to the City Council
with two modifications. The Plan will be considered during a public hearing at
the Council’s upcoming December 7<sup>th</sup> meeting. <o:p></o:p></span></font></p>

which would bring the City's Day Care Ordinance in to compliance with the
State's changes, and on an updated Resolution which includes local regulations
and requirements. The City is also researching the cost and relative risks and
benefits of utilizing the State's licensing procedure in lieu of the City's.
This was reviewed by the Administrative Committee on November 9, 2009 and more
