But to be honest, if you read sites like ESPN on a daily basis, as I do, you'll know that these things happen everywhere. Every university, every football program, no exceptions. It recently happened to a Boise State player, it's happened 8 miles away at WSU, it's happened at the University of Washington, and the list goes on. There are over 100 players on a Division 1 football team, between the ages of 18-22, and the coaching staff can't watch over them 24/7. Perhaps we should eliminate football. Perhaps we should eliminate fraternities and sororities because of recent incidents.<br><br><hr id="stopSpelling">From:<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span><a href="mailto:bear@moscow.com">bear@moscow.com</a><br>To:<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span><a href="mailto:vision2020@moscow.com">vision2020@moscow.com</a><br>Date: Mon, 5 Oct 2009 15:36:55 -0700<br>Subject: [Vision2020] Vandal PRIDE *S*<br><br><br><div><div><div style="margin-right: 0in; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; margin-left: 0in; font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif; "><b><span style="font-size: 24pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif; ">Breaking News</span></b></div><div style="margin-right: 0in; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; margin-left: 0in; font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif; "><b><span style="font-size: 18pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif; ">UI football player faces DUI charge</span></b></div><div style="margin-right: 0in; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; margin-left: 0in; font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif; "><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif; ">October 5, 2009, 2:30 pm</span></div><div style="margin-right: 0in; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; margin-left: 0in; font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif; "><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif; "><img id="ecxPicture_x0020_2" alt="http://www.lmtribune.com/adserver/www/delivery/lg.php?bannerid=499&campaignid=302&zoneid=85&loc=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.dnews.com%2Fbreaking-news%2F1317%2F&referer=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.dnews.com%2F&cb=afe8c23100" src="cid:image001.gif@01CA45CF.6C670C80" width="1" height="1"></span><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif; "></span></div><div style="margin-right: 0in; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; margin-left: 0in; font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif; "><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif; ">A University of Idaho football player was arrested early Sunday morning for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol and was also cited for urinating in public.<br><br>Moscow Assistant Police Chief David Duke said an officer observed freshman tight end Clayton Homme, 18, of Kennewick urinating while waiting in the drive-through line at Jack in the Box shortly before 3 a.m. Sunday.<br><br>The officer then observed Homme get back behind the wheel of the vehicle which eventually led to Homme’s arrest for the DUI.<br><br>Homme pleaded not guilty at his arraignment at the Latah County Courthouse on Monday and a pretrial hearing is set Oct. 13 at 2:30 p.m.<br><br>The arrest came after the Vandals’ 31-29 win over Colorado State University on Saturday evening.</span></div></div></div><br><hr>Your E-mail and More On-the-Go.
